This course introduces the Meridian Theory including: the Twelve Regular Meridians, the Eight Extraordinary Meridians, the Twelve Meridian Branches, the Fifteen Collaterals, the Twelve Meridian Tendons, the Twelve Cutaneous Regions. The functions and indications of each meridian and each points on the meridians  will be introduced in details. The topography of the 12 regular meridians will be emphasized. Details of the funcitons, indications, clinical applications of points on Du, Ren, three hand Yin meridians, and three hand Yang meridians will be introduced in this course.

Acupoints and Meridians Lab (1)

This practical lab course will focus on meridian pass way and point locations. Students will learn to map out twelve meridians and review the meridian system. Students will also practice on each other to locate the commonly used points on a one on one basis

TCM Materia Medica (1)

TCM Materia Medica (1) introduces students to the general information about Chinese herbs, including the collection, the preparation, and the botanic characters. The nature of herbs and the basic theory of TCM herbology that include Si Qi (four energies), Wu Wei (five flavors), meridian collection, movement tendency will all be discussed. Proper dosage, traditional herbal remedies, and the preparation of herbal decoction will be introduced.  Contraindicated herbal combinations will be presented.  he four natures, five flavors, meridian-tropism, tendencies, functions, indications, compatibility, modern usage, and contraindications of 50commonly used herbs will be covered in details. Basic knowledge of TCM foundation and diagnostic skills will be applied to guide the clinical application of the herbs. The charicteristics of each herbs will be empasised in this course.

TCM Diagnostic Techniques

This course focuses on the four diagnostic techniques of TCM: Inquiring (wen), Inspection (wang), Auscultation & olfaction (wen), palpating (qie), include pulse taking and how to use these four diagnostic techniques to collect patient information too effectively to assist further diagnosis.

This course presents an introductory level of study of human histology and embryology.The emphasis is to give the fundamental basic knowledge  topics regarding general introduction to human histology and embryology, structures and functions of human cells, four basic types of tissues (epithelial, connective, muscle and nervous), different stages of embryonic development, and details of fetal development.

This course is a continuation of first semester and will complete rest of the remaining chapters, gives the student an understanding and comprehensive indepth knowledge and integratve appreciation  of the function of the Nervous system, skin, Endocrine, Special senses and remaining topics
Chinese Medical Terminology 2

This is a continue course of Chinese medical terminology, students will learn basic dianogues, reading and writing as grade 1 level in Chinese language as well learn Chinese medical terms such as names of Chinese herbs, Formulas and Acupoints to help students understand TCM.
Clinical Observation
This course requires an enrolment key
After learning some basic TCM theory, students will go to the clinic to observe the practice of acupuncture. During observation the students will become familiar with the steps for assessment and treatment of patients. As well, students will have exercises to apply the basic knowledge learned in the clinic.
