This course introduces students to the micro-acupuncture systems.  Topics to be introduced include scalp, ear, eye, hand, and wrist and ankle acupuncture. Special point location and selection, needling techniques for each micro-acupuncture system will be introduced in detail. This course will be a combination of lecturing and supervised hands on practice in the class.
TCM Internal Medicine 3

This course discusses TCM psychological and geriatric theory, TCM approach to commonly seen psychological, psychotic, and geriatric illness, such as sleeping disorder, depression, bipolar, ADD, Alzheimer’s diseases, psychological disorder from PMS, menopause, brain injury.The etiology pathogenesis, treatment principle and both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine treatment will be included.
Treatises on Febrile Diseases (Shan Han)

This course introduces students to the Treatise on Febrile Diseases (Shanghan Lun) written by Zhang Zhongjing during the Han Dynasty (~200AD). This book is one of the original four classical TCM canons, and it is the very first book to highlight differentiation of syndromes.  The formulas from this book are considered classic formulas; many of them are still used in clinical practice.
Acupuncture Safety and Clean Needle Techniques

This course will introduce students to the transmission of disease, theory and practice of clean needle techniques, and the student will learn the process of conducting a safe acupuncture treatment.
Acupuncture/TCM Gynaecology

This course offers an in-depth study of the diagnostic parameters, syndrome differentiations, and acupuncture and herbal treatment for gynecological diseases with an emphasis on Chinese herbal medicine.  The highlight in this course is on syndrome differentiation and treatment planning for commonly seen gynecological diseases.
Western Medicine 3

This course is the third in a series of courses that studies the main diseases encountered in Western medicine with respect to causes, signs and symptoms, differential diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.  This course focuses on three areas: Gynecology, Dermatology and Pediatrics.
First Aid and CPR

This course offers standard training for certification in Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Special emphasis on blood-borne diseases, puncture complications including pneumothorax, broken needles, anaphylactic shock (allergies), and fainting.
Chinese Medical Terminology

This is a continue course of Chinese medical terminology, students will continue to learn basic dianogues, reading and writing as grade 3 level in Chinese language as well learn Chinese medical terms such as names of Chinese herbs, Formulas and Acupoints to help students understand TCM. Student will start to read small to intermediate paragraphs of Chinese medicine literatures..
Clinical Strategies(7) TCM Gynaecology

This course emphasizes gynecological diseases that are common in North America. In this course, students can refer to their knowledge in acupuncture and Chinese herbs.
Clinical Practice

In the third trimester of third year clinical practicum the students will continue to internships. Interns will practice under supervision for the following: interviewing patients, applying the four diagnostic techniques to collect patient information, differentiation, and treatment planning, and giving an acupuncture prescription and finishing the treatment. Proper diet and lifestyle recommendation will also be included
