This course follows the TCM Formulas and Strategies (1), continue to introduce over 120 commonly used formulas and their simple modifications. The names, ingredients, functions, indications, precautions, and contraindications of each formula will be discussed as well as the role each herb plays in the formula will be analyzed. The emphasis in this course is on learning formulas for commonly occurring diseases and how to adapt the basic formulas to individual cases.

Acupuncture Therapeutics (2)

This course is a continue class of Acupuncture Threapeutics (1). It further discusses the differentiation, treatment principles, acupuncture prescriptions, point combinations, acupuncture techniques for each syndrome for gynecology, pediatric, and dermatology diseases.

This course is developed to familiarize the student with the basic groups of western pharmaceuticals. Drugs in each category will be studied by comparing and contrasting the actions, therapeutic uses, pharmacokinetics, side effects and contraindications of each one. Some of the more common drugs used to treat various diseases will be highlighted
Western Physical Assessment

The student will learn how to take patient histories and do a physical examinations on patients.  Communication skills and identifying certain diseases associated with the findings will also be addressed.  Lab work is a major component of the course and allows the student to apply their theoretical knowledge for examining different systems of human body such as Head and Neck, Abdomen,Respiratory system, Nervous system etc.

Chinese Nutrition and Diet Therapy

Chinese nutrition and diet therapy includes the efficiency of the foods and herbs that serve as food but also have therapeutic effects and how to use food for prevention and treatment of disease, maintaining or improving health, and prolonging life. Basic concepts in western nutritional science will be covered for familiarity when talking to patients.
Chinese Medical Terminology

This is a continue course of Chinese medical terminology, students will continue to learn basic dianogues, reading and writing as grade 2 level in Chinese language as well learn Chinese medical terms such as names of Chinese herbs, Formulas and Acupoints to help students understand TCM. Student will start to read sentences and small paragraphs of Chinese medicine literatures with assistance of dictionary..
Clinical Strategies(4) Acu/Herbal Prescription

Clinical Strategies (4) is a continue course of Clinical Strategies (3). It takes studnets to the next level of learning clincal stragegies from case studies. This course will leads students from a accurate syndrome differentiation towards point selectiongs as well as herbal and fomular selections for the related clinical cases. These practice allows studnets to learn acupoints and herbs from case studies which assist students to learn and apply theories to clinical practice.
