This course introduces the historical background and the development of TCM in different dynasties and stages in China. Stories of famous doctors, literature that has been milestones of TCM progress, and the development of different doctrines, are also introduced.

TCM Foundation

This is the very first course introducing students to TCM. The basic theories of TCM including Yin/Yang, Five Elements and the application of Yin/Yang, Five Elements will be introduced in detail. Zang Xiang (Picture of Zang Fu organs) also known as TCM physiology is also introduced. The functions of each individual organ and their relationship between the Zang organs, Zang and Fu organs will be discussed in details. TCM etiology, pathogenisis, treatment principles, and prevention of diseases are also covered in this course.

This course provides the student with basic and fundamental knowledge of anatomy which is the foundation stone of all the subjects. It introduces the different types of tissues, organ systems, and the structure of the human body including a comprehensive knowledge of Bones, muscles, joints, nerves, and arteries.  Lab work is an important component of this course.
Surface Anatomy

This is a lab course designed for finding the landmarks on the body surface for internal organs, muscles, and skeleton. From this course students will learn the skills for physical assessment, muscular-skeleton, soft tissue assessment, accurate point location and also how to avoid organ injury in acupuncture practice. 
Physiology (1)

This course gives the student an understanding of the function of the human body starting from nerve and muscle how it generates an action potential, mechanism of muscle contraction. Main emphasis will be on studying the major systems, such as the respiratory system, digestive system, central nervous system and circulatory system, Endocrine system etc and how they are integrated and fuction the emphasis will be more on integrated knowledge with in the system and with anatomical structures.

Chinese Medical Terminology

This course introduces students to Pin Yin—The Chinese pronunciation system and the pronunciation of some terms and names commonly used in TCM literature. Transliteration, translation and writing structure will be briefly introduced with emphasis on TCM vocabulary.
Medical Qi Gong

This course introduces the concepts and practice of Qigong as it relates to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Students will learn the history, types, and general training concepts of Qigong for optimal health and clinical application for patient care.
